Enrolment Information

As parents and carers, choosing the right learning environment for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make. At The Assumption, we’re committed to quality education and offer a wide range of learning opportunities designed to help each individual student flourish to their fullest potential, during and beyond their formative school years.

Enrolment Criteria

We welcome all families and children, Catholic or non-Catholic, at our school. However, parents/carers must support the philosophy of our Catholic faith, and children must participate in Religious Education classes and attend Religious activities such as class/school prayer and school Masses.

When spaces are limited, enrolment at Catholic schools within the Diocese adheres to the enrolment priority order, as outlined in our Enrolment Policy.

Enrolment Process

Please note that Kindergarten applications should be submitted to our school prior to the conclusion of Term 1, in the year preceding the start of enrolment. Years 1 to 6 may apply for enrolment at any time of the year.

1. Complete the Enrolment Application Form along with the associated mandatory forms as required. These forms must be signed by both parents/carers where possible. In cases where this isn't feasible, please provide relevant court documents as a substitute.
2. Enrolment forms with supporting documentation should be submitted to the office or directly mailed to: 192 Mitre Street, Bathurst NSW 2795. 
3. Following the receipt of your application we will advise you of a time for an interview to support your application. The interview will include the student and at least one parent/carer.
4. Parents/Carers are notified via email of the success of the enrolment application after the interview. 
5. Parents/Carers should confirm their child’s place by responding to the enrolment application email. Acceptance should be confirmed as soon as possible to secure your child’s place within our school.
6. After confirmation of acceptance, the school will send information to families that includes year-specific requirements and any relevant orientation details.

 

Applications will only be considered when all relevant forms and documentation has been supplied. Please refer to the checklist on page 9 of the Enrolment Application Form for full requirements.

School Tours and Kindergarten Orientation Program

Individual school tours for prospective families are available year-round. These tours offer an opportunity to discuss how our teaching and learning ethos and environment will benefit your child. It’s also an opportunity to meet our teachers and experience our classrooms and facilities first-hand. Contact our office to organise a tour today.

Our comprehensive Kindergarten Orientation Program takes place during Term 4 of the school year. This program is designed to provide children with a smooth transition into Kindergarten life. It’s an opportunity for your child to familiarise themselves with the environment, meet their future teachers, and engage with potential classmates. By fostering early interactions, we aim to encourage the development of skills and pre-emptive friendships, setting the stage for a positive start to their school journey. Information and dates for the program are provided to parents/carers upon a successful Kindergarten application.
