School Awards

The Assumption School strives to develop the student’s self-discipline, as well as affirm and acknowledge the genuine efforts of the students.Following is a brief explanation of our school awards.

Class Merit Awards

Two presented per class each week.

Presented for achievements, efforts and applications across school life including, but not limited to improvement, achievement, and Christian behaviour, quality of class work, mastering a new skill, sporting attitude, social skills and positive contributions to the class.

Student of the Week

One presented per class per term.

Presented to a student who has achieved and / or displayed excellence in any area of the school curriculum including Christian Values, Academics, Sport, Culture and Creative Arts. For this award students may be recognised for upholding the school’s four expectations: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be a Learner.

Achievement Award

One presented per class per term.

Previously this award was known as the Best Worker award. The award description has been widened. This award is presented to a student who has achieved and / or displayed positive growth and / or has produced special efforts and application in any area of the school curriculum.

Mary MacKillop Award

One presented per class per term.

The recipients of this award try to be like Jesus in their everyday actions and they follow the example of Mary MacKillop in her quiet service of him. These students are peaceful, loving, hopeful, prophetic, creative and religious.

Principal’s Award

Presented on merit.

This award is presented to a student who has done something exemplary - reflecting positively on the student, their school and their family.  Staff may nominate a student and / or they are identified by the principal.
